The following schematic may guide you in diy jump starting your car. There are three possibilities that you might
require to jump starting a car: the battery is fault (electrolyte low, worn out), the charging system is not working for any reason, and the battery has been drained (repeated start or leaving the lights on).
1. Connect the Red jump lead to the positive terminal of the battery
2. Connect the other end of the Red jump lead to the positive terminal of the other booster battery
3. Connect the Black jump lead to the negative terminal of the booster battery
4. Connect the other end of the Black jump lead to a bolt or bracket on the engine block away from battery then On the vehicle to be started.
