It takes three main steps to use it correctly (prepare for ready, breathe for slowly, and hold your breath):
1. Take off the cap and shake the inhaler
2. Breathe out all the way
3. Hold the inhaler as seen in the picture (put the inhaler in your mouth – do not use this way for steroids medicine)
4. As in slowly breathing through your mouth, press down on the inhaler one time. If you use a holding chamber, first press down on the inhaler within 5 seconds then begin breathing slowly
5. Keep breathing slowly
6. Hold your breath as you count to 10 slowly (if you can)
7. It will take 15-30 seconds between puffs for inhaled quick-relief medicine (beta2-agonists).
