Do It Yourself Diagnostic Tips for Harley Davidson Touring Speedometer

If you cannot find your digital technician, you might perform a self diagnostic test related to your Harley Davidson Touring Speedometer, make sure you have the manual with you. And here are quick tips to perform a test for the HD Touring speedometer function.

As you can see in the picture (click to enlarge):
1.  Cruise On/Engaged
2.  Check Engine
3.  Low Fuel
4.  Battery
5.  Security

Press and hold odometer reset switch then turn ignition switch ON, then release reset switch.

You may see the background lighting should illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range of motion, and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel (EFI models) check engine and cruise) should illuminate.

Tips: if the speedometer fails this test, then check the battery, ground, ignition, speedometer reset switch and accessory to speedometer.
