The Sapporo & Challenger Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is stamped on a metal plate which is attached to the upper left corner of the instrument panel and is visible from outside the vehicle through the windshield. Above picture for your 1978-80, 81-83 VIN is provided as followed:
On later model vehicles, the number can also be found on the Federal Certification Label attached to the left front door frame.
Engine model number and serial number are stamped at the right front side on top edge of cylinder block. There are two engine model numbers: 1.6 litre (1600cc) with G32B engine code for 2A00101 & up serial number and 2.6 litre (2600cc) with G54B engine code for 54A00101 & up.
