DIY Wiring Electrical Tachometer Harley Davidson to the Single Fire Ignition

The diagram below show you how to wire an electrical tachometer on Harley Davidson. The electric tacho used to be applied on Dyna-S and MSD racing ignitions, and not for use on Super Mag Ignition ar any other type of Magneto ignition.

Connect green wire to tach terminal if you want to apply on electronic ignitions. Never connect red wire to the coil, only connect to ignition switch or battery and through separate switch.

An optional switch functions in powering the tach from a battery, it supplied 12V power to the tachometer to maintain the memory function (source: autometer.com)
